Better Me Program
The Better Me Program is a mentorship and life skills program that is hands on that aims to guide each child individually, allowing them to progress at their own pace and make decisions that are right for them. The goal is for each child to succeed and thrive, ultimately becoming a productive citizen, by equipping them with valuable knowledge and skills, we hope they will one day pass on to their children and foster generational wealth through education and knowledge.
Education (The Achievers)
Studies reveal that the lack of stability during the formative years faced by children in foster care impedes the development of a solid educational foundation. As children transition into adulthood, the focus on survival often eclipses educational pursuits, leading to missed opportunities and unfulfilled potential. These challenges extend far beyond the classroom and as such it is imperative to recognize and address these systemic issues with a more supportive environment.
Ride or Drive
The Ride or Drive program is designed to provide essential transportation resources to youth in need. This includes electric bikes, scooters, bicycles, and additional driving lessons for those who could benefit from extra support to gain confidence on the road. For those who prefer not to drive, the program offers alternative transportation options. We will partner with donors to make this initiative possible.
Transitional Home
The Transitional Home is organized in a traditional manner, where each resident plays a role in maintaining the household. Responsibilities include cooking, participating in household chores, and engaging in life skills training. Residents are expected to stay in school or maintain employment, attend house meetings, meet the qualification guidelines set by the independent living program and uphold their general hygiene for the upkeep of their personal and home space.
